Gothpod is a DIY Electric Vehicle

Personalized Goofy Electric Mobility Devices Made For You

The Gothpod was the earliest designs for first standup electric vehicle at Tinkersmiths Makerspace. The name "Gothpod" came from the original gothic design and dark color scheme. We build an alpha version and pushed it to the point of destruction. We learn so much about constructing vertical mobility devices from this experience. The second, or Beta device required slightly different curves and attachment points along with more structural horizontal ribbing. This left for a less gothy, but rather more dorky aesthetic.

The original premise was to offer this as a flatpack plywood kit for DIY-ers to have a weekend project. The unit was meant to bolt down to an electric wheelchair base which can usually be purchased in most locallitys cost effectively on Craigsit.com.

This project has evolved into what we now call Dorkpod.com
